The Canadian government offers several immigration options to entrepreneurs who wish to settle in Canada, and who have the skills and/or financial ability to establish and run a business.

The permanent residence programs for entrepreneurs include the following:

• Start-up visa program: This is open to entrepreneurs who can demonstrate the ability to set up globally competitive innovative businesses that will contribute to the economy and provide job opportunities for Canadians. Successful applicants are connected with Canadian private sector organizations, who will help them acquire the funding and knowledge they need in order to get set up.
• Quebec entrepreneur program: This is a program for individuals who can demonstrate the ability to create or acquire a commercial, industrial or agricultural business in Quebec. Applicants are assessed on their business skills and experience, their French language abilities and more.
• Provincial entrepreneur programs: Most provincial nominee programs include categories for entrepreneurs who can demonstrate the intention and ability to set up and operate a business in their province.
